My name is Trent Rockne Brookshier and I am so excited to be working here and joining Dr. Forg who has been a mentor and role model to me for several years now. Being able to work here and serve this community honestly feels like I’m living a dream come true.

I grew up in El Cajon attending Christian High School where I met my high school sweetheart, Annalisa. We dated for 8 years and have been married for 10, and we have three sons: Bryer, Desmond, and Calvin. I attended undergrad at UC Irvine (ZOT! ZOT!), living in the honors dorms (called the Shire of Middle Earth for fellow Lord of the Rings fans). Upon graduation, I worked at UCSD hospital as a lab technician on the organ procurement team. I went to Western U in LA for Medical School and completed my 3 year surgical residency at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego. I went on to Kaiser Fontana for further trauma and reconstructive training.

Prior to arriving at Scripps, I completed externships throughout the country at hospitals such as Harvard teaching facility, Swedish Seattle, and Cedars-Sinai LA. During my residency I completed over 1,500 surgical procedures.

I am passionate about progressing the field of podiatric medicine and helping to improve diabetic care. I have presented novel studies around the country, and most recently spoke in Hong Kong and South Korea, sharing my results at the International Diabetes Federation.

My hobbies outside the hospital include sports of all kinds, hiking, dancing, running, beach days, and Survivor.
